Diddy Charged With Sex Trafficking & Racketeering
Following Combs’ arrest based on a sealed indictment, the document was unsealed on September 17.
The 54-year-old mogul faced charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking through force, fraud, or coercion, as well as transportation for prostitution, as detailed in court papers obtained by NBC News.
The indictment claimed that Combs had been manipulating, intimidating, and pressuring women and others in his circle to cater to his sexual desires, protect his image, and conceal his actions for over ten years, with the alleged misconduct starting in 2008.
The court documents stated, “To carry out these actions, Combs utilized the employees, resources, and power of his diverse business empire—creating a criminal operation whose members and affiliates were involved in, or attempted to be involved in, various offenses, including sex trafficking, forced labor, abduction, arson, bribery, and obstructing justice.”
As reported by NBC News, Combs pleaded not guilty and was denied bail.
“He’s going to fight this with all of his energy and all of his might,” stated his lawyer Marc Agnifilo to the media outside the courtroom before the arraignment, “with full confidence in his legal team.”
