Diddy Charged With Sex Trafficking & Racketeering
Following Combs’ arrest based on a sealed indictment, the indictment was revealed on Sept. 17.
The 54-year-old was accused of racketeering conspiracy; sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion; and transportation for prostitution, as detailed in court documents obtained by NBC News.
The indictment claimed that Combs manipulated, threatened, and pressured women and others in his circle to satisfy his sexual desires, safeguard his reputation, and conceal his actions over a span of more than a decade, beginning around 2008.
“In order to achieve this,” the documents explained, “Combs utilized the employees, assets, and influence of the diverse business empire he managed and oversaw—forming a criminal organization whose members and associates participated in or attempted to participate in a range of crimes, including sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.”
As reported by NBC News, Combs pleaded not guilty and was denied bail.
“He’s going to vigorously contest this accusation with all his strength and determination,” remarked his lawyer Marc Agnifilo to the press outside the courtroom before the arraignment, “and with the complete trust of his legal team.”
