Derek Hough’s Candid Thoughts on Anna Delvey’s DWTS Casting Revealed
Derek Hough is still in the process of learning the routine of this cast member.
When it comes to con artist Anna Delvey being cast on Dancing with the Stars, it will take more than one performance to uncover her complexities.
“She ignites curiosity because she remains a mystery,” Derek told E! News in an exclusive interview after the premiere episode of season 33. “Honestly, even after last night, I was like, ‘I don’t quite understand you yet, but I want to know more.’” (For more with Derek, watch E! It appeared that the live studio audience was also seeking answers after Anna and partner Ezra Sosa’s initial performance received less enthusiasm.
But for Derek, the dance competition wouldn’t be the same without the variety in its participants.
“That’s what I find appealing about the show, it offers a mix of everything,” he added. “It sparks curiosity. There’s something in the show for everyone. There may be someone out there who craves that.”
As he humorously noted, “True crime is very popular right now.”
