Final Box Office Collections Worldwide for The Buckingham Murders: Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Film Closes with Disappointing Rs 17 Crore
Despite being directed by Hansal Mehta, The Buckingham Murders failed to resonate with audiences and ended its theatrical run with only Rs 16.50 crore collected worldwide, of which Rs 12.50 crore came from Indian markets.
The Buckingham Murders Ends With Poor Trend, Grossed Rs 12.50 Crore in India
The movie’s limited appeal and mixed word of mouth contributed to its lackluster performance at the box office. The lack of buzz before its release and ineffective promotional efforts also hindered its success, as it was primarily targeted at urban audiences.
While some performances were appreciated, the movie’s opening was weak at Rs 1.10 crore with a downward trend in the following days. The total net collection in India was only Rs 10.50 crore, disappointing for a star like Kareena Kapoor Khan. The movie ended its run after just 12 days.
The Buckingham Murders also underperformed with overseas audiences, collecting only USD 475K, equivalent to Rs 4 crore in Indian currency, resulting in a final global collection of Rs 16.50 crore.
The Buckingham Murders Is A Box Office Flop But Overall A Safe Venture
Despite its box office failure, the movie secured a non-theatrical deal with an OTT platform and received rebates from the UK government, recovering production costs. While the movie may have flopped commercially, it remains a genre-specific film with limitations. Kareena Kapoor Khan’s future projects show promise for greater success at the box office.
