On September 22, 2024, a scheduled pre-release event for Devara in Hyderabad was canceled due to an overwhelming turnout of people that exceeded the capacity and became unmanageable. Jr NTR was advised not to attend the event due to the large number of fans who came hoping to meet him.
Videos and glimpses of the chaos caused by the large number of attendees at the event went viral on social media, showing broken barricades and seating arrangements.
The film’s makers later issued a statement explaining the last-minute cancellation of the event, saying, “We were looking forward to this day as we have worked hard on this film for years and wanted to celebrate it on a grand scale, especially since it is the first solo release of our beloved Man of Masses NTR after 6 years.”
For those unaware, Jr NTR’s Devara: Part 1, co-starring Janhvi Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, and others, is set to release on September 27, 2024.
