Chris Hemsworth’s Decision to Join Transformers Can Be Attributed to His Kids
Chris Hemsworth’s most recent role was a decision made by the whole family.
The Thor actor revealed that his daughter India Rose, 12, and twin sons Sasha and Tristan, 10 (from his marriage to Elsa Pataky), encouraged him to take on the role of Optimus Prime in Transformers One.
“When I received the script, I asked my kids for their opinion,” he shared with E! News during an exclusive interview with co-star Brian Tyree Henry. “I was hesitant at first to step into the shoes of Peter Cullen, but they insisted that I take the role in Transformers.”
Initially surprised by his kids’ enthusiasm for the movie, Hemsworth added, “I didn’t realize they were such big fans of Transformers. It’s a timeless franchise that appeals to all generations.” (Catch Chris and Brian on E! News tonight, Sept. 18, at 11 p.m.)
His children have already seen the film and gave it a perfect rating of “five out of five” stars.
