Esha Deol Opens Up About Slapping Man at Dus Premiere for ‘Inappropriate’ Touching: ‘I’m Not Hot-Tempered…’
Esha Deol recently shared a troubling incident from 2005 that occurred during the premiere of her film Dus. Despite the presence of security, a man was able to approach her and behave inappropriately. In response, she immediately took action by slapping him. She stated, “My immediate reaction was to grab the man’s hand, pull him out of the crowd, and slap him.” She added, “I am not someone who gets angry easily, but if someone crosses a certain line, I cannot help but react.”
During an episode of The Male Feminist, Esha Deol recounted a moment of eve-teasing that she experienced and could not tolerate. The incident took place during the premiere of Dus in Pune, which featured actors like Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Zayed Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan.
Despite having security guards around her, a man from the crowd touched her inappropriately as the stars made their entrance. Esha responded by immediately confronting the man, pulling him aside, and slapping him. She explained that while she is not quick to anger, she feels compelled to react when her tolerance limit is crossed.
Esha encouraged women to stand up against such behavior and speak out, stressing the importance of reacting in such situations. She emphasized, “Women should definitely react in such situations. Just because men may be physically stronger, they should not misuse that strength. I also believe that women are emotionally stronger.”
Esha Deol, the daughter of Bollywood legends Dharmendra and Hema Malini, got married to businessman Bharat Takhtani in 2012. They have two daughters, Radhya and Miraya. However, in February 2024, the couple announced their separation after 12 years of marriage.
On the professional front, Esha made her Bollywood debut with Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe and appeared in films like Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, LOC: Kargil, Yuva, Dhoom, Kucch To Hai, and Kyaa Dil Ne Kahaa. After a successful acting career, she took a break to focus on her family. Reports suggest that Esha is now gearing up for a comeback to the screen, with an announcement about her next project expected soon.
