Berlin actor Aparshakti Khurana recalls he was asked to touch brother Ayushmann’s feet every morning when he was a child; here’s why

Actor Aparshakti Khurana, who recently enjoyed the success of Amar Kaushik’s film, Stree 2, has a strong bond with his brother, actor Ayushmann Khurrana. Aparshakti recently attended the special screening of his latest film, Berlin, where he met several celebrities including his brother, Ayushmann. At the event, Aparshakti won hearts by bowing down to seek his brother’s blessings, a moment that went viral. Aparshakti has now shared the reason behind being asked to touch Ayushmann’s feet every morning when he was a child.

In a recent podcast with Digital Commentary on YouTube, Aparshakti Khurana opened up about his relationship with his brother Ayushmann Khurrana and how the tradition of touching his feet started. Their late father, P Khurana, used to ask Aparshakti to address Ayushmann as “bhaiya” as a sign of respect, but Aparshakti would not comply. He recalled a childhood incident where he got into a fight with Ayushmann and used foul language, leading to consequences.

Aparshakti was given an ultimatum to touch Ayushmann’s feet daily or leave the house. He remembered the instructions given to him and how it changed their dynamic, leading to a more harmonious relationship. Describing their bond as reminiscent of the old-school Ram-Lakshman, Aparshakti credited their middle-class upbringing for shaping their brotherhood.

The viral video capturing Aparshakti’s interaction with Ayushmann and Tahira Kashyap at the red carpet event showed a moment of touching feet and hugs, symbolizing respect and love. Berlin, featuring Rahul Bose and Kabir Bedi, was released on ZEE5 on September 13, 2024.
