Jay Leno Reflects on Babysitting Drew Barrymore in Her Youth: What the Former Tonight Show Host Reveals
Jay Leno is sharing a story about babysitting Drew Barrymore when she was just a toddler. In a recent conversation with the actress on her show, Leno revealed that he was dating Barrymore’s aunt at the time and helped pacify baby Drew. Leno described his experience, as the actress was curious about her childhood. He also shared some funny moments from playing with 3-year-old Drew.
During his appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Leno mentioned, “I met Drew when she was 3 years old. I was dating her aunt and was asked to babysit. I picked you up and bounced you on my knee.” He added, “It was quite amusing.”
Meanwhile, Barrymore, while riding in a golf cart with Leno, seemed surprised by the revelation and asked, “How did we never talk about that? Do you remember anything about me?”
Leno replied, “Well, you were a baby! I was just the boyfriend of the babysitter. You would come in, sit, and make the kid laugh.”
The star of “50 First Dates” had a star-studded upbringing. Not only did Leno babysit her, but Pauly Shore also mentioned babysitting Barrymore briefly in the past and even proposed to her during his appearance on the show.
