Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe” Performance at the 2024 MTV VMAs
Chappell Roan graced the MTV Video Music Awards stage on Wednesday night to perform her hit song “Good Luck, Babe.”
Being introduced by Sasha Colby as “your favorite drag queen’s favorite artist,” Roan appeared in a medieval armor-inspired costume while a castle erupted in flames behind her.
During the performance, Roan showcased her powerful vocals as dancers in medieval-themed attire danced around her.
Roan was also nominated for two VMAs this year, including best new artist and MTV Push performance of the year for her song “Red Wine Supernova” in March.
Earlier in the evening, while wearing a medieval-inspired outfit on the red carpet, Roan responded boldly to a photographer who made disrespectful remarks, standing her ground and defending herself.
Roan rose to fame after the release of her debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, in 2023. Her songs have reached the Billboard Hot 100 chart, with “Good Luck, Babe!” peaking at No. 6.
In a recent interview with Interview magazine, Roan discussed her sudden success and the challenges that come with being in the spotlight.
Despite her growing popularity, Roan has been vocal about the inappropriate behavior she has faced from fans, urging them to respect her boundaries and privacy.
The 2024 VMAs, hosted by Megan Thee Stallion, took place at Long Island’s UBS Arena on Wednesday night.
