Ellen DeGeneres to make final comedy special before retirement
Ellen DeGeneres is making a comeback to television. The former host of a daytime talk show will return to Netflix for a new comedy special titled Ellen DeGeneres: For Your Approval, set to premiere globally on Sep. 24, as announced in a press release from the streaming platform.
For Your Approval is Ellen’s second collaboration with Netflix after 2018’s Relatable. Known for her candid humor, the 66-year-old, who has been married to Portia de Rossi since 2008, is not holding back in what is said to be her final comedy special.
“To answer the questions everyone is asking me,” she shared on Instagram when the special was announced in May, “Yes, I’m going to talk about it. Yes, this is my last special. Yes, Portia really is that pretty in real life.”
During the standup event, Ellen will open up about her experiences since leaving show business and concluding The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2022, according to Netflix’s press release.
