Sequel Buzz Takes Over the Internet as WandaVision Season 1 References All Sitcoms
Recently, the buzz surrounding Kathryn Hahn’s role in Agatha All Along has led fans to call for the renewal of WandaVision for a second season. While the chances of WandaVision season 2 are slim, the magical world of the show will continue with Hahn’s highly anticipated Disney+ series, which also features Debra Jo Rupp, Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, and others.
However, Marvel Studios is not only extending WandaVision with Agatha All Along. There are reports of a Vision series in development titled Vision Quest. As for Scarlet Witch, Wanda Maximoff, her fate in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness remains uncertain. Fans hope to see her return as a hero in Secret Wars, but Marvel’s plans are still unclear. In the meantime, here are some classic sitcoms referenced in WandaVision.
The Dick Van Dyke Show
The Marvel series pays homage to The Dick Van Dyke Show with a recreated living room set reminiscent of the 1961 sitcom created by Carl Reiner.
I Love Lucy
Episode 1 of WandaVision draws parallels with I Love Lucy, including similar aspect ratios and black-and-white imagery. The font used in the opening and closing credits is also reminiscent of the classic show.
In Episode 2, a kiss between Wanda and Vision pays homage to I Dream of Jeannie. The shift from black and white to color in the episode is another nod to the 1965 sitcom.
Bewitched
Episode 2 features an animated opening inspired by Bewitched, with cartoon versions of Wanda and Vision in a romantic scene in the sky.
The Brady Bunch
