Joe Jonas Denies Targeting Ex Sophie Turner in New Album Following Divorce

Joe Jonas isn’t looking to seek revenge.

In fact, Joe’s newest album, Music for People Who Believe in Love, is set to be his most personal yet, but he clarifies that it was never meant to target his now-estranged wife, Sophie Turner, with whom he went through a very public breakup in September.

“It was scary at times, and also freeing,” he shared with Billboard in an interview published on Aug. 27 about the process of creating the album. “I’m not trying to target anyone on this album. I’m not trying to expose anyone.”

As a 35-year-old father of daughters Willa, 3, and Delphine, 2, with Sophie, Joe expressed, “I have a beautiful life that I’m grateful for. I’ve got two beautiful kids. I’m a happy person, and the music needed to reflect that—but also, the journey to reach this point.”

Nevertheless, the breakup did have an impact on the album.

“I was experiencing a lot of changes in my life,” he explained, “discovering who I am as an individual, father, and friend, while also navigating the challenges of the music industry. During such a turbulent period in my life, I turned to music as a form of release.”
