She stated, “My heart is broken that I’ve lost my mother this past weekend. Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day.” Mariah, who is 55 years old, mentioned that she was grateful to have spent the last week with her mother before her passing.
Despite the difficult circumstances, Mariah expressed gratitude for the love and support she has received from others and requested privacy during this challenging time. She did not disclose specifics regarding the causes of Patricia and Alison’s deaths.
Patricia, who was a Juilliard-trained opera singer and vocal coach, was married to Alfred Roy Carey and had three children—Morgan, Alison, and Mariah—before divorcing when Mariah was just 3 years old.
