Actor Rajkummar Rao reveals he did not come from a wealthy background, credits teachers for paying his fees for 2-3 years: ‘I did not starve to death’
Rajkummar Rao is currently enjoying the success of his horror comedy movie Stree 2. Despite the film’s box office success, the actor faced financial struggles during his childhood. He recently shared that they didn’t have much money while he was growing up, but they were not starving either. Rajkummar also mentioned that his teachers had to pay his school fees for a couple of years.
In a conversation with Raj Shamani, Rajkummar Rao spoke about his humble beginnings and the financial challenges his family faced. He recalled his childhood in a joint family with two siblings and emphasized that they did not have much wealth. Rajkummar mentioned that their family was always under financial stress but clarified that they were able to get by.
Rajkummar Rao’s mother played a significant role in ensuring that he and his siblings never felt the financial burden. She always found ways to provide for their needs, even reaching out to relatives for help with books and tuition. The actor revealed that his teachers stepped in to cover his school fees for a period of time, recognizing the importance of education for him and his siblings.
With multiple film releases in 2024, Rajkummar Rao has been quite busy. His recent projects include the biographical movie Srikanth, the sports drama Mr. & Mrs. Mahi with Janhvi Kapoor, and the successful sequel Stree 2. Upcoming for him is the release of Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video alongside Triptii Dimri, scheduled for October 11.
