Retro: Salman Khan’s Uncertainty About His Future and Fear of Being “Gareeb”
Salman Khan has risen to become a superstar and an idol for many. Since his debut in 1988 with Biwi Ho To Aisi, the actor has only grown in stature. Despite his current stardom, it’s hard to imagine that there was a time when he had doubts about his career and future.
We came across an old interview of the actor with filmmaker Karan Johar. In the interview, Salman Khan confessed that he never believed he would achieve superstar status. He mentioned on the Bollywood Gallery show, “I used to think that my future would be doubtful and poor.”
When asked why he had such thoughts despite his good looks, Salman Khan attributed his success to choosing the right scripts, like Maine Pyar Kiya, and being accepted by the audience. He also humorously recalled how he would go unnoticed at parties before his breakthrough in the industry.
Despite being labeled a megastar, Salman Khan revealed in an interview with Pinkvilla that he doesn’t care for such titles. He expressed that he hasn’t done anything extraordinary to deserve the superstar tag.
The actor also shared his greatest fear, which is losing respect in the eyes of his loved ones. He emphasized the importance of maintaining respect in relationships and vowed to always uphold that trust.
Currently, Salman Khan is working on the film Sikandar directed by AR Murgadoss. The action thriller is expected to have intense fight sequences and is set to release on Eid 2025. Additionally, there are talks of him collaborating with director Atlee Kumar for an upcoming project.
