Shahid Kapoor, Vishal Bhardwaj, and Sajid Nadiadwala collaborate on a new action thriller
Shahid Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj have a history of creating magic on the big screen with their collaborations on Kaminey in 2009 and Haider in 2014. Haider even won multiple National Awards, including Best Music, Best Dialogue, Best Costume Design, Best Playback Singer – Male, and Best Choreography. Now, it has been exclusively revealed that producer Sajid Nadiadwala is bringing back the dynamic duo of Shahid Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj for an action-packed thriller.
According to sources close to the project, Sajid Nadiadwala and Vishal Bharadwaj have signed Shahid Kapoor to play the lead role in their upcoming film. The film marks Vishal Bhardwaj’s first venture into the action genre and is set to be a mission-based action thriller on a grand scale. Sajid Nadiadwala and Vishal Bhardwaj both believe that Shahid Kapoor is perfect for the role. The film is expected to feature 6 major action sequences and is currently untitled.
The source also revealed that Shahid Kapoor was highly impressed with the script and the amount of action it contained. He immediately agreed to be part of the project upon hearing the narration. The film is scheduled to begin filming in September/October 2024 and will be shot in India and the US.
While the film does not have a title yet, the trio of Shahid, Vishal, and Sajid are all excited to present a fresh story to the audience. They aim to deliver a film that is unique and different from anything seen before. Along with Shahid Kapoor, the makers are also looking to cast a top-tier actress in the female lead role. Pre-production work has already begun, and the film is slated for a 2025 release.
Meanwhile, Sajid Nadiadwala is busy with three major projects in 2025. He is currently working on Sikandar with Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna, and will soon start shooting for Housefull 5 in the UK.
