Rumer Willis Thrives in Motherhood by Doing it Her Way
After facing backlash for promoting a sex toy company on social media, Rumer responded to her critics.
In an Instagram Stories video from August, she reflected on the comments she received, saying, “What I find interesting is that many of the comments were focused on the fact that I am a mother. People were saying, ‘You’re breastfeeding and now this? Don’t share such intimate moments!'”
Rumer acknowledged the cultural taboo surrounding discussions about breastfeeding in public and female pleasure and sexuality. She highlighted the strong negative reactions people have to these topics when brought up casually.
She stressed the importance of having open conversations to break down the stigma and shame associated with such topics. Rumer expressed her desire for her daughter, Lou, to grow up unencumbered by taboos and to feel comfortable in her own body and sexuality.
