John Abraham, the Vedaa star, shares that his first salary after completing his MBA was Rs 6500, recalling that his lunch used to cost Rs 6.
John Abraham, who has been a part of the Hindi film industry for over two decades, is gearing up for his upcoming film, Vedaa. He made his debut in 2003 with Jism and later explored action and comedy genres. He gained recognition for his role as an antagonist in Yash Raj Films’ Dhoom. John recently shared that his first salary after pursuing an MBA was Rs 6,500, out of which he would spend Rs 6 on lunch in 1999.
During a recent podcast with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, John Abraham recalled his struggling days before entering Bollywood. After completing his MBA, he started working in a company where he earned Rs 6,500 and later got promoted as a media planner in an advertising agency.
He also shared his experience of participating in the Gladrags Manhunt Contest in 1999, where he was judged by Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan, Karan Johar, and Karan Kapoor. Winning the competition earned him Rs 40,000 in cash prize, which was a big surprise for him.
John talked about managing his expenses with a limited income, revealing that his lunch used to cost him 6 rupees 25 paisa in 1999. He would have a simple meal of 2 chapatis and dal fry for lunch, skip dinner by working late, and spend money on petrol for his bike.
Throughout his career, John invested in equity-based mutual funds. His upcoming film Vedaa, directed by Nikkhil Advani, is set to release on August 15. The movie, inspired by true events, also stars Tamannaah Bhatia, Sharvari Wagh, and Abhishek Banerjee in key roles.
