Rajkummar Rao and Manushi Chhillar teaming up for Bhakshak director Pulkit’s next, filming starts in September
Following his success in Srikanth, Rajkummar Rao is currently preparing for the highly anticipated horror comedy, Stree 2, where he reunites with Shraddha Kapoor after the first installment’s success in 2018. This will be followed by the release of the comedic film Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video in October. Not one to slow down, Rao has already lined up an exciting project for 2025. Sources close to the development reveal that he has signed on for the next film by Bhakshak director, Pulkit.
A source disclosed, “Rajkummar Rao has approved Pulkit’s upcoming film, produced by Jay Shewakramani. While the plot details are currently under wraps, the production is scheduled to commence in September 2024 with an extensive shooting schedule. Rao is eager about this collaboration, marking a departure from his usual comedic roles.” The source also mentioned that the female lead for the untitled film has also been cast.
The film will star Manushi Chhillar as the female lead. “The makers were looking for a fresh pairing, and Rajkummar and Manushi bring a new dynamic to the project,” added the source.
The film is set to be filmed in India and is expected to hit theaters in 2025. Jay Shewakramani, known for producing films like Jaawani Jaaneman, Freddy, Malang, Race 2, and Its Entertainment, is on board as the producer. In addition to Stree 2 and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, Rajkummar Rao also has Bhul Chuk Maaf, produced by Dinesh Vijan, slated for a 2025 release. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for further updates.
