Ricky Kej, a three-time Grammy winner, criticizes Air India for ‘absolutely criminal’ ticket downgrade experience; Airline responds
Music composer Ricky Kej shared his unpleasant travel experience on August 3. Despite having a business-class ticket from Mumbai to Bangalore on Air India, he was downgraded at the departure gate without any explanation. This marks the third time this has happened to him within a year.
Upon reaching the departure gate, Kej was rudely informed of the downgrade with no reason given, and no refund offered. He criticized Air India for this treatment, mentioning an unhelpful and impolite crew member. He called on the airline to reflect on their ability to operate effectively.
In a series of tweets, Kej expressed that while operational issues can occur due to unforeseen circumstances, not providing a quick and effective resolution is unacceptable. He demanded a refund for the downgrade to make a decision on his travel plans.
As a customer, Kej sought clarity and a 100% refund for the inconvenience faced. He warned of potential legal action if not compensated appropriately. Air India responded to his tweets, expressing a commitment to courteous service and requesting booking details to address his concerns.
Kej has not provided an update on the situation, clarifying that he chooses a business class for extra space due to his height.
