The Stressful Competition Between Simone Biles and Rebeca Andrade
Simone Biles is prepared to soar away from rival Rebeca Andrade.
The Team USA gymnast, who secured her second gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics on August 1st during the individual all-around competition, expressed her joy at the win but humorously mentioned needing a break from the Brazilian gymnast who took home the silver.
“I don’t want to compete with Rebeca anymore – I’m exhausted,” Simone joked to reporters following the competition. “She’s just too close.”
The 27-year-old couldn’t help but chuckle at their friendly rivalry, saying, “I’ve never had an athlete that close, so it really kept me on my toes and brought out the best in me as an athlete.”
“I’m starting to feel uncomfortable, guys,” Simone stressed. “I don’t like that feeling – it was stressful!”
