Simone Biles Handles Criticism About Her Hair with Grace
Simone Biles is not fazed by the commotion surrounding her hair.
As an eight-time Olympic medalist, she has more important concerns like leading the Team USA women’s gymnastics team to another gold medal in Paris. Despite this, she addressed some online criticism on her way to the July 30 all-around team final.
“Don’t come at me regarding my hair,” the 27-year-old posted on her Instagram Story while using a mini fan to stay cool. “It was styled but the bus has no AC and it’s scorching. Oh, and it’s a 45-minute ride.”
Adding a kiss emoji, she emphasized, “Listen up. Next time you want to comment on a black girl’s hair, just refrain.”
During the competition with teammates Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, Suni Lee, and with Hezly Rivera supporting from the sidelines, Simone’s hair was the least of anyone’s concerns. The focus was on winning another gold medal for the United States.
