Kathie Lee Gifford Suffers Fractured Pelvis, Hospitalized
Kathie Lee Gifford is sharing about a painful injury.
The Emmy winner has been hospitalized after fracturing her pelvis in two places while recovering from hip replacement surgery, as reported by People.
Explaining the incident, the former daytime TV host mentioned that the injury happened after she tripped and fell at home, following a day where she had moved “300 books” alone during an event in Nashville.
“I weakened my body,” Kathie, 70, shared with the publication. “It’s my own fault.”
She continued, “It didn’t take much, because I was weak in that spot. And the next thing you know, I am back in the hospital with a fractured pelvis, both in the front and back. It is more painful than anything I experienced with the hip. The pelvis is incredibly painful. But anyway, here I am.”
The author described the incident as a “humbling experience,” mentioning that she stayed in the hospital for a week because she didn’t trust herself.
