Vikrant Massey shares update on potential 12th Fail sequel: ‘I’m receiving numerous inquiries but…’
In 2023, Vikrant Massey experienced a significant milestone in his career with the film “12th Fail.” Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the movie was a sleeper hit that drew audiences to theaters unlike any other recent film. While the film was well-received, many viewers wondered if there would be a sequel. In a recent interview with India Today, Vikrant Massey shared whether such a plan exists.
Will there be a 12th Fail 2?
When asked if Massey is consciously making choices to avoid being typecast, the actor revealed, “Now, I’m receiving a lot of offers for another ’12th Fail,’ but I am purposefully shifting towards selecting something different.” He acknowledged that when something is successful, people often want to see more of the same.
Vikrant Massey’s next project will be the sequel to “Haseen Dillruba.” Speaking about it, he mentioned that the sequel, titled Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, was made possible because the first part left room to explore the characters’ lives beyond the initial storyline.

Regarding a potential sequel to “12th Fail,” the 37-year-old actor expressed, “I personally don’t see a ’12th Fail Part Two’ happening. Do people want it? Yes. But is it the right decision? That is a collective choice that we all have to make.” Massey noted that it is natural for people to expect him to continue with similar types of films that have previously resonated with audiences.
