When I am considering buying makeup or skincare products, I often seek advice from my friends. If none of them have experience with a product I’m interested in, I turn to online reviews. I enjoy reading testimonials on store websites and watching reviews on social media platforms like TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram. I value everyone’s opinions and tips on application. Additionally, seeing how products look on real people, especially when choosing a flattering shade for my skin tone, is important to me.
Out of curiosity, I decided to use ChatGPT to generate a list of the best lipsticks. The app provided me with a list of popular and highly recommended lipsticks without any personal input.
The list featured some lipsticks that I already use regularly and others that caught my attention. While some picks included specific shades, others were more general, making it difficult for me to determine the exact lipstick the app was recommending.
In my opinion, while the list from ChatGPT is a good starting point for shopping, I still prefer to rely on human recommendations for my purchases. I find value in reading reviews from other shoppers, looking at customer photos, and watching tutorial videos.
