Alexis Ohanian excels in his role as “umbrella holder” for wife Serena Williams
Serena Williams‘s husband Alexis Ohanian received a new title at the 2024 Paris Olympics—and his reaction to it was a huge success.
While watching the live TV coverage of the Opening Ceremony on July 26, co-host Laura Woods from Eurosport mentioned that the tennis star had arrived with an “umbrella holder,” referring to her husband who was holding an umbrella for her and their daughter Olympia, who is 6 years old.
Later, the Reddit co-founder captioned an Instagram photo of himself, Serena, and Olympia at the Opening Ceremony as “Olympia. Serena. Serena’s Personal Umbrella Holder,” followed by a laughing emoji. He added, “Let the games begin!”
Laura made her comment after praising Serena’s attire—a red, ruched midi bodycon dress paired with brown pointed pumps.
“She looks absolutely incredible,” the TV presenter remarked. “She has someone right behind us holding an umbrella. That’s the kind of level you aim for. To have an actual umbrella holder behind you.”
