Janhvi Kapoor reveals what drew her to Ulajh
With Ulajh, Janhvi Kapoor is venturing into a new genre of films. In an interview with Pinkvilla, she shared the story of what attracted her to the movie, which has a Tirupati connection.
The Bawaal actress mentioned that her first meeting with director Sudhanshu Saria was very formal. She said, “As an actor, you feel grateful when you are considered for different films. So, out of respect, sometimes you attend these meetings.”
She added, “I don’t even think Sudhanshu thought, ‘This is the person we’re casting.’ Often, studios meet many actors and then it all depends on fate.”

However, after hearing the initial pages of the script, she was mesmerized. “I was stunned by the narration. I was not expecting the script and story. It thrilled me.”
She read the rest of the script on her flight to Tirupati. “We’ll know on August 2nd if it was a sign or not, but I felt it was a good sign to read the script on my way to Tirupati, so I decided to do it.”
