Kevin Hart Discusses Purchasing a Computer on Recommendation from Jason Segel After Admitting He Didn’t Previously Own One
Kevin Hart shared a funny story about living with Jason Segel on his Peacock talk show, Hart to Heart. While working on a pilot together in 2001, Hart observed Segel typing on his Mac computer and praising Final Draft software. Even though Hart didn’t own a computer at the time, he followed Segel’s advice and purchased the software.
In a conversation with Judd Apatow, Hart explained how he bought Final Draft without having a computer, saying, “I went out and bought it, didn’t even have a computer.”

Despite not having a computer to use it on, Hart splurged on Final Draft software for his early writing days. He laughingly recalled spending money on the software without a computer and asking Segel if he could use his. Eventually, Hart bought a Dell and started writing because everyone around him, including Segel and Seth Rogen, was doing it.
