Ameesha Patel made her acting debut in the 2000 film, Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai opposite Hrithik Roshan. This movie helped her establish herself as one of the top actors in Bollywood. The following year, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha showcased one of her best performances.
The sequel was also a huge commercial success. Speaking to Hindustan Times City, Patel mentioned that she and Sunny Deol contributed to directing parts of Gadar 2. While she clarified that she didn’t direct the entire film, she acknowledged that they made significant contributions that enhanced the audience’s experience.

During the same interview, the actress from Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage shared that despite having creative differences with filmmaker Anil Sharma, she holds him in high regard. Reflecting on their time filming Gadar, she mentioned how they communicated through assistant directors even during long shooting schedules.
While acknowledging their disagreements, Patel emphasized that they resolve conflicts and maintain a good working relationship. She concluded by stating that she is open to collaborating with Sharma on future projects if given the opportunity.
