CBFC censors Vicky Kaushal and Triptii Dimri’s 27-second kiss in Bad Newz: Report
Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk’s Bad Newz is set to hit theaters on July 19, 2024. The movie has been creating a lot of excitement among fans with its songs and promotional events. Just before its release, the film received a UA certificate.
However, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has now asked the makers to remove a 27-second kissing scene from three different parts of the movie.
CBFC censors 27 seconds of kissing scene from 3 parts of Bad Newz
As per a report from Bollywood Hungama, the CBFC’s Examining Committee reviewed the film and decided to censor three kissing scenes between Vicky and Triptii, totaling 27 seconds. The cut list detailed one scene at 9 seconds, another at 10 seconds, and the third at 8 seconds.
Interestingly, rather than cutting frames, the CBFC opted for modifying the ‘visual of lip-lock’ as mentioned in the list. Additionally, minor adjustments like changing the disclaimer, including anti-alcohol statistics, and increasing the font size of the anti-alcohol message were requested.
After making these changes, Bad Newz received a U/A certificate from the CBFC with a duration of 142 minutes, equivalent to 2 hours and 22 minutes.
About Bad Newz
The trailer of Bad Newz promises a hilarious comedy. It introduces Triptii Dimri’s character who is pregnant and unsure about the father’s identity. Initially, she falls in love with Vicky Kaushal’s character but reveals her pregnancy without certainty.
Later on, Ammy Virk’s character enters the picture, and she also develops feelings for him, complicating the situation of potential fatherhood. The storyline takes an intriguing turn when doctors suggest both Vicky and Ammy could be fathers due to a rare condition.
The trio embarks on a quest to ascertain paternity, competing with each other to establish their claim. The trailer also features a guest appearance by Katrina Kaif and Tiger Shroff, promising a blend of romance, humor, and drama in Bad Newz.

Vicky Kaushal and Triptii Dimri on the work front
Vicky Kaushal was last seen in Dunki, alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, and Boman Irani. His upcoming projects include Laxman Utekar’s Chhaava and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
Triptii Dimri’s recent role was in Animal, where she starred alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, and others. She has exciting projects lined up, including Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 with Kartik Aaryan, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video with Rajkummar Rao, Dhadak 2 with Siddhant Chaturvedi, and a potential role in Animal Park.
