Serena Williams Challenges Harrison Butker at 2024 ESPYS
The Pearl Jam frontman had some strong words, referring to Butker as a “f—kin’ p—y” during a concert in Las Vegas on May 18.
“That’s some talented individuals, forming a great band,” he said, pointing to his fellow musicians on stage. “The singer, Jessica [Dobson], and the keyboard player, Patti [King], they clearly didn’t buy into that ‘diabolical lie’ that women should be content taking a back seat to their partners.
Vedder, a father to daughters Olivia and Harper with his wife Jill McCormick, acknowledged the difficulty of homemaking as “one of the toughest jobs” and one that should be respected.
He questioned the logic behind advising anyone, regardless of gender, to give up on their aspirations.
Furthermore, Vedder stated, “There’s nothing more manly than a strong man supporting a strong woman, and individuals of integrity embrace equality.”
