Brooke Burke Opens Up About her Disappointing Departure as DWTS Co-Host
Speaking about how she landed the gig, Brooke explained that there was a major casting call following Samantha Harris’ departure.
“Since I had won the show that year, they didn’t ask me to audition because they knew I was already a host and familiar with ballroom dancing. I had the mirrorball trophy, so they assumed I didn’t need to audition,” recalled the BB Body founder. “But I insisted on auditioning because everyone else was doing it.”
Brooke then requested a chance to read with Tom in case a chemistry test was required.
“It was a risky move,” she admitted. “But it paid off, as our chemistry was undeniable. I truly wanted the job, and it turned out to be a wonderful experience as a host. Dressing up like a princess every day, connecting with my colleagues, showing love and compassion to the contestants, and understanding their journey were all part of this enjoyable ride.”
