Spencer Grammer, star of Rick and Morty, is saddened by the passing of her stepfather, Dr. Bill Skinner. On July 8, she shared the news on Instagram along with a heartfelt tribute.
A loving tribute
In her post, Spencer expressed deep emotions about her stepfather. “I’ve never been very open about my private life,” she wrote. She praised him for teaching her unconditional love. Spencer has known him since she was five, and he became a father figure to her after marrying her mother, Doreen Alderman.
Even after Dr. Skinner and Alderman separated, he continued to support Spencer. He always listened to her, believed in her, and stayed by her side. “He left us this week, and our hearts are shattered. I wanted more time with him,” she added.
Spencer shared a selfie of them together as a remembrance of their last moments. She emphasized the importance of spending time with loved ones and not forgetting to capture those moments.
A deep loss and family bonds
Spencer described feeling a profound sense of loss. “A part of me is missing now. Truly deeply missing,” she added. Many lives were touched by his kindness and generosity, for which Spencer thanked him.
Before ending her post, she acknowledged his presence and expressed gratitude for knowing him. Spencer is Kelsey Grammer’s eldest child. Their relationship has had ups and downs, but they have reconciled over time.
In 2022, Kelsey shared how starring in a movie with his ex-wife helped them reconnect. He expressed regret for not being there for Spencer during her childhood due to his work schedule.
