MyKayla Skinner Clarifies She Did Not Intend to Offend 2024 Olympics Team
She was a part of the gold-winning teams at both the 2012 London Games and the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games. Additionally, she achieved gold in the gymnastics all-around in 2016, making her the first African American to do so.
After the Rio Games, Douglas took a step back from the mat and transitioned into a prominent TV and media personality. She authored her memoir “Grace, Gold, and Glory” in 2012, was featured in the 2014 Lifetime movie “The Gabby Douglas Story,” and starred with her family in the unscripted series “Douglas Family Gold” on Oxygen.
Her television appearances also include roles in “Kickin It” and “Undercover Boss,” along with a victory on “The Masked Dancer” in 2020.
In 2024, she announced her return to the sport with plans to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Unfortunately, she was forced to withdraw from the U.S. gymnastics championships in May due to an ankle injury.
