After a concussion following a reported “horse incident,” the Princess Royal is currently suffering from temporary memory loss. Her injuries, caused by impact from a horse’s head or legs, remain consistent.
Anne’s husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, remained by her side at the hospital following the incident. On June 25, after spending a second night there, Sir Laurence provided an update on her health to well-wishers.
“She is recovering well, thank you,” he mentioned. He expressed gratitude to the medical team, hospital support staff for their expert care, and emergency services for their remarkable work at the scene. “We are both deeply touched by all the kind messages we have received from so many people near and far. It means a great deal,” he added.
ITV’s Chris Ship shared a video of Laurence leaving the hospital and responding to paparazzi questions about the Princess’s health. “She’s fine. Slow but sure,” he mentioned while walking past.

The Princess Royal, an avid equestrian who competed for Team Great Britain in the 1976 Olympics, reportedly had a “horse incident” at her Gatcombe Park estate in London.
