The renewal of Resident Alien for its fourth season, a dark sci-fi comedy starring Alan Tudyk, has been confirmed. The show is making a move from Syfy to USA Network in order to attract a larger audience, as USA Network is more popular than Syfy.
Show is on the rise
In recent years, Netflix has helped increase the popularity of the series by picking up both seasons earlier this year. This increased exposure has led to more people discovering and watching the show. During its third season, the show had a total of 3.3 million viewers across all platforms.
Harry, played by Tudyk, is an alien who crash-landed on Earth. He disguises himself as a human in a small Colorado town, despite being tasked with wiping out humanity. The cast includes Sara Tomko, Corey Reynolds, Alice Wetterlund, Levi Fiehler, Elizabeth Bowen, Judah Prehn, and Meredith Garretson.

Animation strategy
With this move to USA Network, the channel is returning to scripted originals. They recently acquired The Rainmaker, a reboot of John Grisham’s legal drama, as part of their straight-to-series order pickups from Lionsgate TV and Blumhouse TV producers.
Chris Sheridan, the executive producer, adapted Resident Alien from the Dark Horse comic series and has been the showrunner since its inception. The show is produced by UCP in association with Amblin TV and Dark Horse Entertainment. With its new home on USA Network and a growing fanbase, the fourth season of Resident Alien is expected to reach new heights.
