Cassie’s attorney addresses Diddy’s statement regarding assault video
The surveillance video footage aligns with the description of an alleged incident from March 2016, as detailed by Cassie, formerly known as Cassie Ventura and now also using her married name Casandra Fine, in a lawsuit involving sexual abuse, sex trafficking, and battery that she filed against Combs in November 2023, settling the case one day later. Combs’ lawyer at the time stated to E! News that “Mr. Combs’ decision to settle the lawsuit does not in any way undermine his flat-out denial of the claims.”
Combs is currently facing five other civil lawsuits in New York since last fall, accusing him of sexual assault, sex trafficking, and other criminal activities, all of which he has refuted.
In addition, the Grammy-winning artist is under federal investigation following raids on his properties in California and Florida in March. A source close to the investigation informed NBC News that the inquiries stemmed from a series of lawsuits against Combs, with federal officials having interviewed three individuals related to allegations of sex trafficking, sexual assault, and involvement in illegal narcotics and firearms.
One of Combs’ lawyers stated to NBC News after the raids that the rapper cooperated with authorities and was never detained, maintaining his innocence and vowing to fight to clear his name.
