Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Archewell Charity is Declared “Delinquent” by Authorities
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s Archewell Foundation has been instructed by state officials to cease fundraising or spending money due to a delinquency notice.
The non-profit organization, established by the couple in 2020, was recently deemed delinquent by California’s Registry of Charities and Fundraisers for not submitting required annual reports and renewal fees, as per documents obtained by E! News on May 13.
According to a notice from California Attorney General Rob Bonta to Archewell Foundation, “An organization that is listed as delinquent is not in good standing and is prohibited from engaging in conduct for which registration is required, including soliciting or disbursing charitable funds.”
However, a source close to Archewell Foundation informed E! News that the organization had submitted their filings on time, but it seems that the renewal fee check was not received by the registry. The insider mentioned that a new check has been sent out and the foundation anticipates a swift resolution with their standing in the state registry being corrected in the near future.
