The Man Responsible for Viral Dress Controversy Admits to Assaulting His Wife
You’re likely familiar with the infamous dress debate that had people divided over whether it was blue and black or white and gold. But now, a darker story emerges about the man behind it.
Seven years after Kier Johnston shared a viral picture of the dress his mother-in-law intended to wear to his and Grace Johnston’s wedding, he was arrested and confessed to assaulting his wife, as reported by The Guardian.
Court documents from March 2022 obtained by People detail how Kier repeatedly choked his wife, threatening her life with a knife in the process.
At a hearing on May 9 at the High Court in Glasgow, reported by The Guardian and The Telegraph, it came to light that Kier ominously warned his wife, “Someone is going to die.”
Grace, living with her husband on the remote Scottish Isle of Colonsay, urgently sought help, declaring, “My husband is trying to kill me.”
