A Sequel to the Social Network is Currently Being Developed

Aaron Sorkin, the screenwriter of the 2010 film, has announced that he is working on a sequel. He mentioned that he is currently writing a script focusing on Facebook’s involvement in the January 6 United States Capitol attack.
During an April 26 live recording of the The Town podcast, Sorkin hinted at the theme of the movie by stating, “I blame Facebook for January 6.” He added, “Facebook has been deliberately promoting divisive content through its algorithm in order to increase engagement and keep users scrolling endlessly.”
Sorkin did not mention whether the sequel will feature the original cast including Andrew Garfield, Jesse Eisenberg, Armie Hammer, and Justin Timberlake.
The creator of The West Wing also emphasized the need for social media platforms to balance between growth and maintaining integrity.
