The reason Emma Stone is considering ditching her stage name
Emma Stone would love a new name in the city of stars.
The Poor Things actress, whose real name is Emily Jean Stone, recently expressed her desire to go back to being called Emily.
“That would be so nice,” she shared in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published on April 24. “I would like to be Emily.”
Emma revealed that she had to adopt the name “Emma Stone” to obtain her SAG card due to another actress already being registered as “Emily Stone” with the union.
However, there are already people in Hollywood who refer to her by her real name. “When I get to know them, people that I work with do,” she disclosed. “I freaked out a couple of years ago. For some reason, I was like, ‘I can’t do it anymore. Just call me Emily.’
