Eminem’s 16-Year Sobriety Milestone: A Celebration
Eminem has reached a significant accomplishment recently.
The Grammy winner announced that he has been sober for 16 years.
Eminem, also known as Marshall Mathers, posted a picture on Instagram on April 20 showing his recovery coin with the words, “Unity, service and recovery.”
Family and friends expressed their joy about this milestone, with his longtime manager Paul Rosenberg saying, “Sweet 16. So proud of you,” and his younger brother Nathan Mathers commenting, “Greatest Influence and Mentor.”
Additionally, fellow artist John Mayer used a fist bump emoji to congratulate Eminem, and singer-songwriter Bonnie McKee wished him a happy birthday and shared that she has been sober for 12 years.
The rapper, known for hits like “Lose Yourself,” has marked his journey of sobriety over the years, including celebrating his 12th anniversary in 2020. He captioned his photo with the words, “Clean dozen, in the books. I’m not afraid.”
Eminem, who has been sober since 2008, has courageously shared his past struggles with addiction to Vicodin, Valium, and alcohol.
