Olivia Munn Opens Up About Shocking Cancer Diagnosis Despite Clear Mammogram
Olivia Munn‘s life took a surprising twist when she was diagnosed with cancer.
Despite being proactive about her health, the actress from Newsroom received negative results from a mammogram and a BRCA gene test about a year ago.
“I thought I was clear of breast cancer,” she revealed in an interview with People published on April 17. “I underwent all the tests I knew about.”
However, everything changed three months later when Olivia’s OB-GYN, Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi, decided to conduct the Tyrer-Cuzick risk assessment calculator test, which indicated Olivia had a 37.3 percent risk. Given that a high-risk score starts at 20 percent, the doctor recommended an MRI.
Unlike previous tests, the MRI results were inconclusive, prompting a same-day ultrasound for the 43-year-old and an emergency biopsy the following day.
