Brittney Griner and Cherelle Griner Anticipate Arrival of First Child as a Couple
Brittney Griner and Cherelle Griner are excited to announce the arrival of a new addition to their team.
After over a year since Brittney’s release from detention in Russia, the couple shared the news of their upcoming first child together.
“Can’t believe we’re less than three months away from meeting our favorite human being,” the couple posted on Instagram on April 14, with the hashtags, “#BabyGrinerComingSoon #July2024.”
The post included a picture of Brittney and Cherelle holding hands around their baby’s sonogram, with the baby’s gender kept a secret for now, garnering love and well-wishes from fans and friends.
“OMGGG CONGRAAAAAATS,” commented singer Kehlani, while One Tree Hill‘s Sophia Bush also extended congratulations. The Women’s National Basketball Association and the Phoenix Mercury showed support as well, with the WNBA writing, “Yay,” and Brittney’s team adding, “Baby Griner,” alongside the happy tears emoji.
Cherelle shared glimpses of the couple’s baby shower on her Instagram Story, featuring guests participating in blind-folded diaper changing games. Cherelle wore a purple jumpsuit, displaying her baby bump, while Brittney opted for a light blue jacket with floral print over a white t-shirt and pants.
