JoJo Siwa Addresses Claim She “Stole” Song “Karma” From Miley Cyrus

JoJo Siwa Responds to Accusations of “Stealing” Song “Karma” From Miley Cyrus

JoJo Siwa is clarifying the situation.

The Dance Moms alum has addressed rumors suggesting that she plagiarized her latest single “Karma” from Miley Cyrus and Brit Smith, who allegedly had demo versions of the song in the early 2010s.

“I want to make it clear that I did not steal anything,” JoJo told TMZ on April 12. “There’s no such thing as stealing.”

The 20-year-old also mentioned the song’s producers Rock Mafia, who wrote the track years ago and have worked on popular songs for Disney stars like Miley’s “Can’t Be Tamed” and Aly & AJ‘s “Potential Breakup Song.”

“Sometimes songwriters create pieces that aren’t used immediately, and it may later suit a different artist,” JoJo explained.
