Tragic Death of Colorado Skier Dallas LeBeau at 21 Following High-Risk Stunt
The Colorado ski community is grieving the loss of one of their own.
On April 9, a man tragically passed away after attempting a 40-foot jump over Berthoud Pass in Gilpin County, Colorado, as reported by the Grand County Sheriff’s Office to E! News. The man, identified as Dallas LeBeau, was only 21 years old.
Authorities received a 911 call around 3 p.m. on April 9, reporting a skiing accident near Berthoud Pass summit. LeBeau was found unconscious and not breathing, and despite bystander CPR efforts, he sadly did not survive. The exact cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
Described as a “high-risk” stunt by officials, LeBeau, who was also a ski instructor, attempted to clear the width of U.S. Highway 40. Unfortunately, he did not have enough speed and distance, resulting in him landing on the highway pavement. Authorities noted that the victim was wearing a helmet and other protective gear at the time of the accident.
