Jonathan Majors Escapes Jail Sentence in Domestic Violence Incident
Jonathan Majors will not be going to jail in his assault case involving his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari.
During his court appearance on April 8 in New York City, the actor was sentenced to a 52-week in-person counseling program and a $250 fine.
Majors must continue with counseling and provide reports to the court. If he is arrested within the next year, he will face a year of jail time as per the sentencing.
As reported by NBC News, a full order of protection will be in place for Jabbari, with exceptions for legal matters in court.
“Grace is very pleased with today’s sentence,” her lawyer told E! News on April 8. “She hopes that 52 weeks of in-person domestic violence programming will deter future actions by Mr. Majors. She is grateful to Sanctuary for Families in New York and Women’s Aid in the UK for their support during this challenging legal process.”
This sentencing follows the jury’s verdict four months ago, where Majors was found guilty of misdemeanor assault and harassment but not guilty on other charges.
The charges against Majors originated from an alleged incident in March 2023 where Jabbari claimed he physically assaulted her in a car after she tried to see messages on his phone.
Majors, who was arrested after a 911 call, has consistently denied the allegations.
