King Charles III will not sit with the royal family at the Easter service.
King Charles III‘s Easter Mattins Service will have a different setup this year.
The monarch, who has recently been diagnosed with cancer, along with Queen Camilla, will be seated separately from the main congregation at St. George’s Chapel on March 31 to safeguard his health, as confirmed by The Telegraph.
In previous years, they were usually accompanied by King’s sister, Princess Anne, and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, as well as Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, along with her daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice. However, Prince William and Kate Middleton are unlikely to attend due to Kate’s own cancer diagnosis and treatment.
This service will mark Charles’ first public appearance since starting his cancer treatment, although he has communicated with the public through pre-recorded messages. Recentl, while his wife was at the Royal Maundy Service on March 28, he delivered a video message to explain his absence.
“In our nation, we are fortunate to have a variety of services that cater to our well-being,” he stated in a video shared by NBC News. “In addition to these organizations and their dedicated staff, we greatly value those who offer us friendship, especially during challenging times.”
