King Charles III expresses his “Great Sadness” over missing royal event
King Charles III is giving thanks in a pre-recorded message played at the Royal Maundy Service on March 28. Despite his recent cancer diagnosis, the monarch expressed his gratitude for those who work to help others, acknowledging the various services in the country that contribute to the welfare of all. He emphasized the importance of extending friendship, especially in times of need.
Although Charles, 75, was unable to attend the service in person due to his health condition, his wife Queen Camilla represented him. She took on the task of handing out Maundy Money to 150 deserving individuals who, according to the King, exemplify kindness and selflessness by going above and beyond in serving their communities.
